Training Programs

We provide comprehensive, hands-on training for those committed to gaining the skills and experience necessary to safely and effectively facilitate & provide plant medicine experiences. Our programs are thoughtfully designed, blending live.

Women's Initiation

We connect women to initiatory journeys to Africa where they can immerse themselves in the Maboundi or Mabanji tradition, tracing its roots to the ancestral teachings of the Bwiti. This distinctive experience provides a profound connection to spirituality.

At Root and Wisdom, we transcend the traditional retreat model. While many programs focus narrowly on trauma and healing, we embrace the profound truths and states of being emphasized by wisdom traditions and Indigenous cultures. These truths, when fully realized, offer deeper and more lasting transformations than the conventional focus on “getting better.”

Our offerings are carefully designed to take you on a transformative journey. Many guests find everything they’ve been searching for in our introductory program, The End of Healing. This level reconnects you with your innate wholeness, offering a grounded, centered way of being and a fresh start in life. Participants leave feeling rejuvenated, with their nervous systems reset and their minds and bodies optimized for clarity and alignment.

For others, the journey continues into deeper exploration. Our four-tiered program—The End of Healing, Liberating from the Mind, Self-Realization, and Dream Walking—invites you to uncover the essence of who you truly are. In these advanced levels, you’ll transcend mental conditioning and explore the ultimate state of being: self-realization. In this liberated state, suffering ceases—not because life’s challenges disappear but because your perspective shifts. You’ll begin to see the world through the lens of the soul, no longer tethered to the ego or the mind.

Facilitator Training

A wise medicine man once imparted to us the profound truth that caring cannot simply be taught—it is innate. Iboga, meaning “to care for”, encapsulates this sentiment beautifully.

As servants of this sacred medicine, we approach the responsibility with utmost reverence.

In our commitment to upholding the integrity of iboga ceremonies and facilitating transformative psycho-spiritual journeys, we recognize the importance of offering comprehensive training for those interested in becoming an iboga provider or facilitator.

Our sessions will delve into essential aspects such as maintaining integrity, ensuring safety, and fostering profound experiences with iboga.

Stay tuned for more details on upcoming training opportunities as we continue to honor the wisdom of the medicine and share it with the world.

Provider Training

Do you feel called to serve Iboga and guide others through its profound transformational journey?

In recent years, we’ve seen a troubling trend in the Iboga space: individuals from the West, often without proper training or therapeutic background, stepping into the role of providers. This lack of preparation has led to harm—physical, psychological, and spiritual—and perpetuates a neo-colonialist mindset that extracts from Africa without giving back.

At Root & Wisdom, we recognize a difficult reality: many will serve Iboga regardless of their readiness or alignment. While we do not claim the authority to grant anyone the “blessing” to serve, we created the Iboga Provider Training Program to ensure that those who choose to walk this path do so with integrity, safety, and reverence for the sacred traditions of Iboga.

True service is not a decision made lightly. It is not born of ego, desire, or lack—it must be rooted in humility, selflessness, and a deep calling from the plant itself, discovered through a relationship with the Bwiti people, the land of Gabon, and Iboga’s profound teachings.
