Integration

Integrative Living

At Root & Wisdom, we don’t just talk about integration—we invite you to reframe it as integrative living. The distinction is subtle yet profound. Integration often implies something to accomplish, a task to complete, or a process that can be “done wrong.” How many times have we heard someone say, “I messed up my integration” or “I didn’t integrate properly”? This kind of pressure is unrealistic and counterproductive. Who decides what “successful” integration looks like? This dualistic thinking only takes us further from the depth and beauty that these plant teachers like Iboga offer—a way to live beyond polarity in a state of equanimity.

Integrative living, on the other hand, is an ongoing way of being—a constant unfolding within each moment, each breath. It’s not about chasing a perfect outcome or completing an imagined task but about embracing life itself as the true ceremony.

Through this lens, the time spent with plant medicine, as profound as it may be, becomes just a blink of an eye compared to the grand ceremony of your entire life. Teachers like Iboga extend an invitation—not for a singular transformative event but for a way of living as an active participant in your own journey. They call us back to an ancient rhythm—a way of being reflected in Indigenous wisdom traditions—where life is a constant ceremony, deeply connected to the earth and steeped in meaning.

Where integration implies a goal or objective, integrative living is a way of being. It mirrors the wisdom of Indigenous peoples who flowed with nature’s rhythms, finding ceremony in every gust of wind, every drop of rain, and each sunrise.

To support you in this shift toward integrative living, we’ve developed a set of robust resources that extend far beyond your time with us, setting a new standard for guest care. If other centers aren’t offering this level of depth and support, it’s worth asking yourself, why not?

Our Integrative Living Resources Include:

  • Our guests receive two complimentary 60-minute integration sessions, which may be scheduled with Troy Valencia, Joaly Trinidad, or a combination of both. Joaly, who holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and brings over six years of experience working with entheogens and plant sacraments, offers somatic-based integration support. Troy, currently pursuing his doctorate in Clinical Psychology, provides psychological insight and integrative guidance.
  • Three months of FREE access to Nectara, an e-integration platform offering community sharing circles, expert guidance, and a library of over 100 resources to help you deepen your journey.
  • Our Mind Transcendence Program (MTP): A comprehensive 9-month e-course combining pre-recorded content with live coaching sessions. This program supports you from three months before your retreat to six months afterward, helping you weave your insights into everyday life.

Integrative living reminds us that transformation doesn’t end when the medicine wears off. It invites you to step fully into life—moment by moment, breath by breath—as the co-creator of your own healing and growth. This is the heart of our work: not just guiding you through a ceremony but empowering you to live in the constant ceremony of life itself.

What is integration?

The real magic of Iboga happens when you embody the profound lessons it has revealed to you. However, the insights and shifts you have experienced need time to process and unfold. Integration refers to the ongoing process of integrating this wisdom and healing so that you live your life in alignment with your highest truth.

Psychological clarity and healing

Iboga is known for its ability to help individuals confront and heal deep-seated emotional wounds, unresolved trauma, and repressed memories. You may find yourself processing difficult emotions that were hidden from your conscious awareness.

Shifts in perception and awareness

Iboga can bring about a reawakening of your sense of self and your connection to the world. Many people report a shift in how they see themselves, their relationships, and their purpose in life. This clarity may inspire changes in your career, social circles.

Heightened sensitivity and intuition

After working with Iboga, your senses may feel heightened, and you may experience a greater connection to your intuition. This can lead to a deeper understanding of your own needs, desires, and the natural flow of life, guiding you to make healthier choices.

Physical detox and emotional release

Iboga’s powerful detoxifying effects can bring about a period of physical and emotional release. This may manifest as changes in your body’s energy, sleep patterns, and digestion, or it may prompt intense emotional shifts. These experiences are part of the healing process, and patience is key.
